History of the Internet presence of the Oriental Institute, University of Chicago

Nine years ago, when the web was about half as old as it is now, "Back before Google", I wrote a piece for the Web Editor column of Ariadne (Issue 21 - 23 September, 1999), Abzu and Beyond: Charles Jones muses on the history of the Internet presence of the Oriental Institute, University of Chicago.

It's probably time to write an update. I wonder who'll do that?

I have no idea who might best update the Institute's Internet presence, although it remains vibrant, but did want to note that I wrote--and deathless prose we all agree it is!--a piece on the subject in late 1996. Here's the link:
