Small World
Charles "Chuck" Percy, who served as one of Illinois's Senators from 1967 to 1985, fell in love with the Oriental Institute during his undergraduate days in the late 1930s. It remained his favorite cultural institution in the years that followed. Senator Percy's son-in-law is one John D. Rockefeller IV, Senator from West Virginia, and grandson of John D., Jr., the Institute's founding benefactor.
